Painesville, OH-January 28, 2006:  James Venaleck and Steven Payne attended a workshop from January 23 – January 25, 2006 hosted by the Lakeland Community College Police Department specializing in a homeland security for first responders.

 

The 3-day training session was sponsored by the Lakeland Police Department, the Lake County Emergency Management Agency and the National Center for Infrastructure Protection.  This session was the first of six courses that will be taught by Texas A&M University in Lake County this year.

 

The workshop featured drills and written assignments designed to prepare the participants not only the types of procedures to utilize in a disaster, but also focused on reducing response time in case of a disaster.
