Project begins helping victims

Project Unite, a new victim assistance program, conducted its first Victims Awareness Seminar Thursday and delved into areas of crime that are often forgotten but tremendously impact victims for months after a crime.

The seminar attended by representatives of various local and state agencies gave everyone an opportunity to see how they can and should work together to put a person's life back together after they are vicitimized.

From pointing them in the right direction to having their home cleaned after it is destroyed by violent crime or giving them the tools to fight identity theft, every agency has a role, said Sheriff Ron Nichols who opened the program.

Are you a victim, if so go to www.rosscountyprojectunite.comfor information on how Project Unite can help you. Included is a list of upcoming events, including monthly victim support group meeting times and dates.
